Over recent years, Meir Park has really started to celebrate its historic background as a former air field, and therefore it felt fitting on VE Day 80 to see residents come together to mark the moment. The Residents Association did a terrific job of organising a special moment this evening at one of the memorial benches around the estate, complete with silhouette soldier, and around 50 residents gathered to share the moment, with flags, buntings and a special poem reading.
