The Centre for Cities panel at Conservative Party Conference

After a year’s break due to Covid-19, the 2021 Conservative Party Conference was a welcome opportunity to once again raise the profile of our work in Stoke-on-Trent over the last few years. I was delighted to be asked to speak at a range of events, both as ‘myself’ and also as a representative of the LGA, as well as being asked back to speak at events in the Youth Zone and for Centre for Cities.

Events during the week included the CWO event for leaders, several events in the Youth Zone including Girl Guiding event on sexual harassment of young women and girls, By Design’s event on the Holiday Activity Fund, a Manchester University event on building health and well-being into communities, as well as Centre for Cities urban leadership in a post-pandemic world.

Conference is always a good opportunity to engage with a broad range of individuals and organisations, and hopefully my contribution will ensure the profile of our city continues to grow.
