It was an absolute pleasure to attend the latest Make It Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire inward investment team property event, hosted at the Tunstall Trade Park by Clowes Development. As the keynote speaker, I was able to give an overview of ‘Transforming A City’, an update on major projects being planned and delivered across the city, including the ongoing success of the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone, where we see development either under consideration or being delivered on 5 of the 6 sites in the EZ. This is a project that I was told by political opponents in 2015 that I would never secure, and then when I secured it, would struggle to deliver!
The secret of Ceramic Valley is a great team of developers, land owners and partners including the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP. We also have some fantastic advocates in terms of occupiers, and it is always hugely inspiring to hear from Mo Iqbal, the MD of Tile Mountain, about his connections to Tunstall and passion that drives his business forward. Also great to round the morning off with a quick visit to the site where JCH Marine will be relocating - I’ve had lots of positive comments on my shoes in the main photo!
