Move aside 'Strictly Come Dancing', we have our own local version where local business people step forward onto the dancefloor with their professional partners to demonstrate their dancing prowess. I had a number of friends taking part, some I'd walked the Staffordshire Way with earlier in the summer, and it was great to see many more friends in the audience at the Kings Hall too. Does our city's premier civic venue ever look better than for big events such as this?

I have to take my hat off to the contestants, who were all fantastic and demonstrated how much they'd learnt over the course of their lessons. Gareth Higgins was a worthy winner, but really, they were all amazing. And even better, over £120,000 was raised for the superb Dougie Mac. A great night!
