Stoke-on-Trent City Council are currently working through the Local Plan process - this is essentially creating a plan for where the council expects to see both economic and housing development over the next 15 years. They've gone through various stages, including a draft Plan stage where it emerged that site BL3 could be included. The site is right on the edge of the city, a large greenbelt site between the railway line and Caverswall Lane, which is the only access. At the draft Local Plan stage, along with a number of local residents, I raised concerns about inclusion of this site for a number of reasons.
We are now at 'regulation 19' stage, where the City Council are publishing their proposals plans - and site BL3 continues to be included. I have already delivered one leaflet to Catchems Corner residents (as well as some areas of Foxfields Crescent) and will be doing several street meetings to further discuss the issues, so please do keep an eye out for my leaflet. In the meantime, here's a short social media clip about my concerns.
