Laying a wreath on Remembrance Sunday
With the two Chelsea Pensioners who joined us this year
Parade photo

After last year’s greatly reduced service, this year saw a return to the usual large turnout at Stoke-on-Trent’s civic Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Stoke Cenotaph. It’s been my immense honour to lay a wreath on this occasion a number of times, one which never diminishes in its importance.

We have been very grateful in recent years to have a large contingent from The Royal Signals Regiment stationed at Stafford, and this year was particularly poignant as the last Remembrance Parade of Pete Branton, Commanding Officer, before his retirement. It was a pleasure to join the regiment, plus the Lord Lieutenant, Lord Mayor and two wonderful Chelsea Pensioners, for a final photo afterwards.
