It was a wonderful seeing so many residents out across the community today, joining in with a variety of events to recognise the city's centenary.
This morning was filled with the Friends and Neighbours group, helping to hand out their afternoon tea tote bags, which I supported through my ward budget as a Councillor. It was so lovely to join the 'knitting Nanas' and other volunteers to hand these out, and it is a fantastic project supporting those who are housebound and unable to join in other events. My knitted bottle kiln will sit on my desk with pride.
It was then great fun to join residents from across the ward at the Fun Day organised by the Residents' Association and Potters Bar pub, including live music, various activities and stalls. Whilst the rain kept some away, it was still a fantastic afternoon.
It's always a pleasure to support community groups as much as I can, and I pay tribute to them both for such a fantastic day and all of their hard work.
