Abi Brown at Caverswall Lane where residents would like to see double yellow lines put down

Over the last few years, I've had a number of residents contact me raising concerns about the impact of vehicles parked on Caverswall Lane and the bend into Uttoxeter Road, including the reduced visibility for vehicles leaving Edenhurst Avenue.

Putting down double yellow lines required a Traffic Restriction Order, and as the bend is on the boundary between Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council, I have been busy pursuing the support of the neighbouring county councillors to get a consultation with residents. This happened just before Christmas last year, and I have since been advised that the TRO will be implemented, meaning double yellow lines on the bend and just beyond. This won't impact the residential properties on either Uttoxeter Road or Caverswall Lane, but will prevent vehicles parking on the road on the bend and down as far as the junction with Edenhurst Avenue.

UPDATE : I've been advised that the double yellow lines are due to be installed during the autumn.
