The old pitch being taken away!
The bandstand and ornamental gardens in Hanley Park

Supporting local communities to improve facilities is so important, and one which led to the launch a few years ago of our £3m Community Investment Fund. This week, I was out in Hanley Park with Cllr Carl Edwards seeing the improvements to the artificial football pitch in the park, with a new 3G pitch being laid. The pitch is floodlit until 10pm and a staggering 50,000 people use it every year! Here’s a link to the Sentinel coverage.

There’s been some huge improvements to Hanley Park in recent years, with significant funding provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund, bringing back into use the main Pavilion, boat house and bandstand, as well as improving other facilities. It’s well worth a visit!
